Prepping for a Baby is not like prepping for a puppy!

It's so hard to believe August is 5 weeks, 2 days old. He is so active and strong!!

We were having lunch today and chatting about how much he has grown and how strong his little neck is, but at the same time... completely recognizing that he is still a new born. It feels like he has been here forever and we love his little face so much! He is really starting to smile and his little personality is taking shape. August loves his play mat, tummy time, not so much but we make it through. He is also very aware of the art work over his changing table and loves to be on the move. Must have been all of the dog walks while he was hanging out for 9 months.

The pups also love their baby. Just as we expected their personalities have aligned perfectly to their relationship with August. Maddy is the momma, Pepper thinks it's her baby (because Pepper thinks everything is hers), and Tank is chilling out in the corner wondering where his attention and snacks are coming from, LOL! They come in from their afternoon walks and run around until the spot him. Of course they have to make sure he is still here!

We had our one month appointment last week and all checked out perfectly. August gained 2 more lbs (now up to 10 lbs) and grew an inch (now 22 inches). His pediatrician said he was a strong little guy and of course everyone thinks he is just a beautiful baby. I mean, he is one amazingly beautiful baby boy!

August loves bath time, now that his belly button fell off. He was not a fan of the cold sponge baths, but who can blame him? He has all kinds of little toys and he is starting to kick his feet and push off the side of the tub. That little baby bath chair is up for a wild ride with his strong little legs :)

We just received our new born pictures back from our recent photo session. I will work on combing through the good ones and post next week. In the meantime, here are a few pics for those friends not on Facebook. Maybe even some new ones that haven't been posted.

We have received so many gifts since we came home! We appreciate all the love and support you have shown to our little family.

We will continue to post pictures, but it will be a while until we can get back into the swing of things. I made it quite the production before, but now there is a very full baby in the nursery. :) Until then, thank you cards will continue to go out.

We love you all very much!!

Hello, from day 9 of welcoming August into our lives! We are absolutely in love with this amazing little man. A little tired, but completely in LOVE! August arrived on January 27, 2021 at 12:15 p.m. He weighed 8.5 lbs and was 21 inches long.

We made it home on January 30th after 3 days in the hospital. All went well, just a little extra time and love from Martha Jefferson Hospital. I cannot begin to tell you how amazing our experience was and well cared for we felt by ALL of the hospital staff.

August has been a champ through all of the appointments and check-in's. Although, he was not a fan of the foot pricking (a little bit of jaundice, to get out of his system) he has really been just an amazing baby. His weight gain is going well and he is a good sleeper. Knock on wood!

Kyle is the most amazing husband and dad! We make a great team and August truly loves his dad. Kyle has mastered the baby calmer, the swaddle, and of course August and dad's favorite past time is signing and dancing.

I have posted on FaceBook, but I know not everyone does social media, so here are a few photo's from the past 9 days.

No big deal, just chillin' at the doc's office.... looking all GQ!

Swaddle shoot, XOXO!

I'm a week old!!!
